DOTS, DOTS, DOTS
Classes in Pre-K, Kindergarten, and First Grade started off their art year by making dots. First we talked about places we can see dots. Then we read the book, The Dot, by Peter H. Reynolds. You can see and hear the story here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t5mGeR4AQdM
Then children in Pre-K and Kindergarten experimented making dots on letters, animals, shapes, and more. First graders drew their own pictures and added dots. The children also learned about George Seurac, Roy Litchenstein, and other artists who use pointillism-which is a way of making pictures using dots. All the children did a nice job.
Check out our slideshow of dots. Enjoy!
